The Hindquarter is a catering company based in northern Vermont.  We offer complete catering services for events of all sizes; from high-end plated dinners to family-style gatherings utilizing our custom-made grills. Each event is unique and each menu is custom designed.

We are centered in a rich agricultural community and strive to serve the food produced by our neighbors. We butcher, salt, cure, smoke and grind all our locally raised meats. We bake our own breads. We prepare our slaws, sauces and vegetables using the bounty of Vermont’s harvest. Simply put, the dishes prepared are fresh, local and delicious.

Many clients wonder what we offer other than a delicious spread.  We have an Event Coordinator who meets with the client to discuss all details prior to the event.  Details and needs vary greatly from location to location and many venues require rentals. The Event Coordinator manages the rental list, all details and timeframe specific to the event.
Most of the time, venues need to be ‘assembled’.  Whether it be a tented wedding at, Huntington River Vineyard, or a private dinner party; tables, chairs and tabletop decor need to be managed.  Occasionally, clients want to tend to some of these details themselves.  Whatever the need, we make it happen.  From the custom designed menu to the staff to the set up and break down of the event- every detail will be tended to.


Our Argentinian grills offer much more than the traditional dinners one typically finds at a catered event. They allow us to prepare dishes for large or small gatherings, including;  Paella, Clam Bakes, Shrimp Boils, Pig Roasts, Porchetta on a Spit, Lamb Asado and beautiful vegetables on a cast iron Chapa – all cooked over local hardwoods with exceptional flavor.  Guests love watching the food they are about to enjoy, cooked right in front of them.  Many of them make their way over to ask questions…which we welcome.  




A Ford box truck hailing from 1964 has been renovated into our glorious food truck.  We can go just about anywhere within an hour or two of Burlington. We also attend local concerts, festivals, private functions and other happenings around town. The truck is the perfect fit for late night wedding fare, company parties or just a neighborhood gathering.
